NEW WINDOWS PRINTER VERSIONS
We highly recommend that you purchase and use a printer that will use these printer languages because our programs will print much faster and we believe that the time saved will more than offset the purchase price (see printer problems) for details. But if time is not a problem or if you wish to see how a printout looks from our program or demo, R*KOM has purchased license to use and distribute 2nd party windows software that will allow our programs to print to your default Windows printer by writing a file to disk instead of directing data to a printer. This allows the use of any port attached to the printer such as lpt2, com ports, usb ports, etc.. The 2nd party software waits for a file to be written to one of its directories, then automatically reads the file and prints it to the default printer on your Windows operating system.
These WINDOWS PRINTER versions require a windows operating system (program runs in a DOS window on Windows 95/98/ME/XP) and will not work on a DOS operating system. Just click on the program you want to download it.

PRTWIN version 1.9.0.0 By holding your cursor over the icon (printer) found on the bottom right hand of your desktop screen you can check the printer version - if not 1.9.0.0 then you are using a version not provided by us and it most likely will not work with our software.
PRTWIN is intalled by installing our windows printer version of a program. To reinstall PRTWIN, you should delete the presently installed version by deleting the folder Araisa in the folder Program Files. But first right click on the PRTWIN icon and select exit. Then install our windows printer version program.
The working directory for our software is c:\PrtwinWrk. This is where our programs write to disk. You can verify that PRTWIN is looking in the right place by right clicking on the icon and then left clicking on setup.
If you click on setup, you can determine which printer PRTWIN is using to print. If no printers are listed, then it will use your default printer. If you have more than one printer hooked up, you can select the printer you want it to use.
We have had some reports of PRTWIN shutting down. To restart it without rebooting you computer, you might want to place a shortcut on your desktop. Using "My Computer" (on your desktop)open the folder "Program Files", then the folder "Araisa", then the folder "Prtwin". Right click on Prtwin.exe, then left click on "Send To" then left click on "Desktop". You should now have an icon on your desktop to restart PRTWIN.
